2017 Annual Student Juried Exhibition

Location: Visual Arts Center, Gallery Two (Hemingway Center 110)
Juror Blake Shell selected 37 artworks by 30 student artists for this year’s exhibition, which was open to all undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in classes offered by the Art Department at Boise State University.

About the 2017 Juror:
Blake Shell is the Robert and Mercedes Eichholz Director and Curator of the Art Gym and Belluschi Pavilion at Marylhurst University, providing the artistic direction and leadership of the organization. Shell is a contemporary art curator and artist with over twelve years of experience in directing nonprofit and educational galleries. She received a BA in art from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and an MFA in photography from Savannah College of Art and Design. Her curatorial work has gained regional attention and press in the Pacific Northwest, as well as a national review on’s Critic’s Picks. Shell is currently a panelist for the Visual Chronicle of Portland, managed by Regional Arts & Culture Council, and on the Marketing Committee of the Association of Art Museum Curators.

Patrick Kikut – Square States and Moonscapes


Patrick Kikut // Square States and Moonscapes  New paintings exploring lunar eclipses and landscapes by Laramie, Wyoming artist Patrick Kikut.
Visual Arts Center, Gallery One (Liberal Arts Building 170) Opening reception with the artist,  Friday, November 11th, 2016 from 6-8pm. Admission is free and open to the public. Exhibition continues through December 5th, 2016.
